Hollywood royalty met the real thing yesterday.

Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, held court at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racket Club — and then mingled with Tinseltown glitterati eager to meet the bluebloods on their visit to Southern California.

After wowing the polo crowd earlier in the day, William and Kate joined a glamorous black-tie crowd that included Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez and Jack Black, among many others.

Fans cheered as the beaming couple strode the red carpet — Kate looking regal in a flowing lilac dress with white waistband by Alexander McQueen.

The soirée at the Belasco Theatre was organized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, of which William is president, to promote up-and-coming British talent in the industry.

“When American and British creative talent gets together, magic happens,” William told the crowd.

At the earlier polo match, the prince scored four goals, helping his team to victory, and the crowd rushed onto the field despite the announcer’s pleas that they return to their seats. Security had to use a rope to push them back.

Kate then presented each competitor a blue Tiffany box with a white ribbon and a big silver trophy to her husband’s team. William was the last player to the podium, and when the crowd yelled, “Kiss!” she obliged by giving him a hug and a peck on each cheek.

“My father, the Prince of Wales, and my brother, Harry, were as green [with envy] as that grass outside when I told them I’d be here today,” William told a reception.

“Catherine and I have had a busy few days, so the prospect of being able to let loose this afternoon is wonderful for me.”

The newlyweds were fresh from a nine-day tour of Canada, where Kate garnered praise from style watchers for pulling off one bright, chic outfit after another.

The $4,000 VIP tables at the polo match were crammed with such British movie stars as Orlando Bloom and “Transformers” actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and a healthy share of American celebs, including Rosario Dawson, Joe Jonas, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Rob Lowe, Zoe Saldana and Billy Zane.
