Reality behind scenes on soaps

The fate of soap operas may be hanging perilously by a thread, but their stars are still in hot demand.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos — the husband-wife duo who met on the set of “All My Children” — are co-producing “Dirty Soap,” a new reality show aiming to reveal all the juicy, behind-the-scenes drama experienced by soap stars.

General Hospital’s” Kelly Monaco and Kirsten Storms, “Days of Our Lives‘ ” Nadia Bjorlin and Galen Gering and “One Life to Live’s” Farah Fath and JP Lavoisier are set to star in the series.

They’ll offer viewers a look at the “soap bubble” that they live in, where the real-life friendships, frenemies, hookups and more are dramatic enough to rival what happens onscreen.

The eight-episode series follows the actors as they embark on new chapters of their careers, whether it’s leaving the soap world, making movies, focusing on family or deciding what they want to do next with their lives.

“Dirty Soap” premieres Sept. 25 — just two days after “AMC” calls it quits.
