Comeau finalizes $2.5M deal with Islanders

With two days to go before he was set to head to arbitration, Blake Comeau last night agreed to a one-year deal with the Islanders, which The Post confirmed was for $2.5 million.

Comeau, 25, was the Islanders’ second-round pick (47th overall) in the 2004 draft, and has spent the past three seasons with the club. Last season, the Meadow Lake, Saskatchwan, native had career highs in goals (24), assists (22) and points (46), while finishing fourth on the team in goals and fifth in points.

He has played 245 career games, all with the Isles, and totaled 121 points (56 goals and 65 assists) while never making the playoffs.

The Isles also agreed to terms with forward Jon Sim on a one-year, two-way contract. He had 22 points (13 goals, nine assists) in 77 games last season, his third with the team.
