Chris/Andy – what a team

Talk about an odd couple.

Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie cheekily offered to join forces with his cross-Hudson frenemy, Democratic Gov. Cuomo, to tutor the White House and Congress on how to get things done.

“I’m sure that Governor Cuomo and I would be happy to run a seminar for them anytime, to try to let them know how to get things done,” Christie said yesterday.

Christie, who must negotiate with a Democratic-run Legislature, said he was “relieved” President Obama and Congress finally reached a debt deal.

Both governors have won legislative achievements, including cuts in taxes and spending, without the brinkmanship that has occurred in Washington.

A more guarded Cuomo declined to comment on Christie’s offer.
