Trebek burglar: ‘Not guilty’

The answer is: What is not guilty?

The woman accused of sneaking into “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek’s San Francisco hotel room last week and robbing him was in court yesterday to enter a plea in the case.

Lucinda Moyers, 56, is charged with two felonies — first-degree burglary and possession of stolen property, according to reports.

Moyers was arrested after allegedly stealing a purse, wallet, bracelet and cash from Trebek’s room at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis last Tuesday. (The cash and jewelry have not been recovered yet.)

Trebek, 71, woke up at around 3 a.m. and found Moyers poking around the room he and his wife were staying in. He chased her down the hallway, tearing his Achilles tendon as he ran.

Moyers has two previous convictions for residential burglary, in 1990 and again in 1991, which makes her eligible for a third-strike offense which, under California law, could mean a sentence of 25 years to life.

Moyers is being held on $625,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court again in two weeks.
