Terrence Samuel Diary No. 5: Ready to rest after grueling month

Over the next month, The Post will bring you into the world of South Shore/New Heights point guard Terrence Samuel as he travels from Indiana to Reading, Pa., to King of Prussia, Pa., Las Vegas and back to Reading during the live recruiting period. This is entry No. 5 of 5, as told to The Post’s Zach Braziller.

READING, Pa. – The live period finally ended Sunday night. We won the Hoop Group/New Heights End of Summer Classic. I played OK.

I just need a break. The soreness is starting to kick in. This month I played like 30 games. I can’t wait to go home and sleep for like two or three days. Playing so many games back-to-back is hard. It kicked in during Hoop Group Elite Camp Session III on Saturday. My lower back started hurting and my legs were really tired.

I don’t have a favorite school, but I notice what schools watch me the most. Iowa State, Cincinnati and Xavier, have watched me the most probably. At the end of my junior year I want to decide on college.

The most memorable moment of July was my dunk in the Adidas Invitational. It was the first time I dunked on anyone. And winning the tournament. That was special.

We had a great year. We won five tournaments. We got players that know their role. Everybody can do something special. We have players that can do everything.

Hoop Group camp was fun. The food was good. My roommate was Doudmy St. Hilaire, my teammate at South Shore. I had a good team at Hoop Group for once. Usually my team loses every game. I made the top-20 all-star game. It was the best I ever did here. It was a good feeling being at the awards ceremony and having my name called.

I still have some tournaments in August, like Dean Street and Battle of the Boroughs. But I’m gonna try to rest a lot.
