Charlie Sheen’s character to be killed off in ‘Men’ season premiere: report

Charlie Sheen will be going six feet under when “Two and a Half Men” returns to CBS this fall.

Sheen’s character, Charlie Harper, will be killed off at the beginning of the Sept. 19 show, Hollywood blog Deadline.com reported today.

According to the report, Charlie’s former girlfriends will all come back for the episode and his house will be put on the market.

How Sheen dies has yet to be revealed.

‘MEN’ AT WORK

Last week, an Irish bookmaker started taking wagers on how Harper will be dispatched from the top-rated show this fall.

Driving his car off a cliff — an ending first suggested by a gossip Web site last spring — is the current betting favorite.

Paddy Power, which frequently offers so-called novelty bets on pop-culture events, has placed the odds of car-over-the-cliff exit in the season nine premiere at 11-10.

Most of the bookmaker’s speculations about how Harper’s absence will be dealt with in the first episode are far-fetched — and betting on them would be ill-advised since the episode will not even be taped until this month.

Lots could change between the time a bettor puts down his money and the episode hits the air in mid September.

Deadline also reported that the episode will also feature potential buyers coming to see the house, with Ashton Kutcher among them.

This comes a few weeks after Sheen, who was fired from the show in March, announced that he plans to return to television in “Anger Management,’’ based on the 2003 film.

The new series will be produced by Lionsgate Television and shopped to prospective broadcast and cable networks.

Sheen will have a “significant ownership stake’’ Lionsgate said.

Anger issues over the creative direction of “Two and a Half Men’’ led to Sheen’s terminal clash with its executive producer Chuck Lorre.
