Weird But True

Weird but true

Some TV personalities get butterflies in their stomachs.

This weatherman got a moth in his mouth.

Wes Hohenstein, of WNCN in Raleigh, NC, was in the midst of his report when he suddenly disappeared off screen.

When he returned, he told his viewers, “I swear, a moth just flew into my throat.” He said he swallowed the insect.

Speaking of what goes into people’s mouths . . .

A new invention for dieters, worn like a watch and called the “Bite Counter,” keeps track of wrist movements to figure out how often people put food into their mouths.

Adam Hoover, a Clemson University researcher and co-creator of the device, explained, “It’s impossible to pick up something and put it in your mouth without moving your wrist.”

This has to be one of the worst cases on record of adding insult to injury.

Four men broke into a pickup where a man was sitting with his girlfriend.

They drove both of them, in separate cars, to the man’s home in Miami, where his wife and kids were waiting for him.

After robbing the family of cash and jewelry, they brought the girlfriend inside — apparently figuring the man would have so much explaining to do, he wouldn’t have time to call the cops.

Call it “toad rage.”

Drivers in British Columbia are subject to major delays because two roads in the Canadian province are being closed for the annual migration of baby toads.

About a million of them are protected by the “toad blocks.”

Most people just nuke their food in a microwave.

Richard Handl of Sweden was busted for trying to build a nuclear reactor in his kitchen.

He apparently had second thoughts and called authorities to see if his physics project was legal.
