A popular SoHo sidewalk cafe is au-llegal.
Oscar Cafe on MacDougal Street has infuriated officials and neighbors by operating a sidewalk eatery based on a bogus land survey.
“I’ve never been to this restaurant. I’ve never surveyed it,” said the alleged surveyor, Ramzan Alli, of Jamaica, Queens.
In June 2010, the city Department of Consumer Affairs charged the hip eatery with “engaging in unlicensed sidewalk-cafe activity.” Neither the owners nor the manager returned calls for comment.
