The B stands for “baby.” In an announcement that overshadowed the MTV Music Video Awards before the show began, superstar Beyonce Knowles tonight announced she’s pregnant.
Knowles, 29, broke the news by cradling her stomach as photographers snapped away on the red carpet; the pop star’s publicist later confirmed the pregnancy. Before she performed during the show, she told the audience: “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside me.” At the end of her performance, she unbuttoned the sequined blazer she was wearing and rubbed her tummy on stage. The camera cut away to hubby Jay-Z, who beamed a broad smile.

While her marriage to megastar Jay-Z in 2008 immediately sent false pregnancy rumors flying, the Grammy-winning artist has clearly had baby on the brain recently. Beyonce told InStyle magazine in September that she finally felt mature enough to start a family.
“Now I’m a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children,” she told the mag.
And the pregnany apparently isn’t slowing her down: Just two weeks ago she sizzled at the Roseland Ballroom in New York.
If the happy news weren’t enough, Beyonce went on to win Best Choreography for “Run the World [Girls]” at the MTV pre-show.
