A nice deserted beach on the caribbean coast close to Puerto Viejo. Costa Rica’s Caribbean Coast is, in some ways, everything the Pacific Coast isn’t. While you’ll also find pristine beaches and lush coastal rain forests here, what you won’t find is the throngs of tourists, rapid development and Disneyland-like atmosphere of Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. Here you find remote fishing villages, lazy beach towns and the heart of Costa Rica’s Afro-Caribbean culture. Shutterstock.com
