Newly single Kristin Cavallari to attend Marine Corps Ball

LOS ANGELES — Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari, who recently ended her engagement to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, has accepted an invitation to the Marine Corps Ball.

“Wanted to know if you want to go the Marine Corps Ball with me in San Diego?! Would make a video but still deployed!” Jonathan Burkett, who is currently aboard the USS Green Bay, tweeted to the MTV reality starlet.

The newly single blonde responded late Thursday that she is game for the November bash and “would love” to attend.

The news “made the rest of my deployment so much better! Thank youuu!” Burkett, 23, responded.

According to his Facebook profile, Burkett is a 2006 grad of West Virginia Wesleyan College and originally from Pittsburgh, Pa.

Though Burkett listed Steelers’ running back Rashard Mendenhall, Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and Miami Heat star LeBron James among his favorite athletes on the social networking website, Cutler failed to make the cut.

Cavallari, 24, and her NFL star fiance announced in July they had broken off their four month betrothal.

The former “Hills” star and Cutler, 28, had dated about 10 months and got engaged in April while on vacation in the Mexican resort of Cabo San Lucas.

Amidst the firestorm of media scrutiny about their shocking split, the pair have remained mum on the subject.

Cavallari joins fellow celebrities actress Mila Kunis and actor Justin Timberlake who also accepted invitations to the military ball.
