‘Jersey Shore’ sneaks on to Emmy show

Turns out “Jersey Shore” will be represented at the Emmy Awards, after all.

Although the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences snubbed the pop-culture phenomenon in the nomination department, the cast of the hit MTV reality show will have a role in Sunday night’s ceremony, airing on Fox.

“They filmed a skit when they were out in Los Angeles two weeks ago that will air during the Emmy Awards,” a source close to cast members says.

The fist-pumpin’ stars were on set for a five hour shoot and will be playing themselves.

Emmy host and “Glee” star Jane Lynch was also involved in the skit.

It’s uncertain when the skit will air during the broadcast — although it’s confirmed that it will not be part of the show opening — or how long it will run.

With the cast’s various book deals, endorsements and spinoff shows in the works, “being part of the Emmys skit shows how [the cast] has impacted pop culture,” says the source.

Midway through its “Guidos go to Italy”-themed fourth season, “Jersey Shore” has averaged 7.9 million viewers.

A fifth season has already been filmed — back in the cast’s Seaside Heights, NJ, stomping grounds — and is scheduled to premiere next winter.
