Congressman Bob Turner held a secret meeting with his disgraced predecessor Anthony Weiner to discuss a host of issues important to voters in the Queens-Brooklyn district, it was revealed yesterday.
“He was very gracious. He came at my request,’’ Turner said of the Wednesday powwow at a Kew Gardens restaurant.
Weiner resigned in June after getting caught in a sexting scandal.
Turner, a Republican, shocked the political world by defeating Queens Democratic Assemblyman David Weprin in a special election last month for what was once considered a safe Democratic seat.
“It was all business. We did not discuss personal issues,’’ Turner said of the one-hour meeting with Weiner.
