Paterson kid clocked beau: cops

The stepdaughter of former Gov. David Paterson was charged with assault yesterday after smashing a bottle and a frying pan over her boyfriend’s head during an early morning brawl in Greenwich Village, authorities said.

Neighbors called cops at around 4:30 a.m. after hearing the fight between Ashley Dennis, 23, and Brian McGuinness, 30, inside an apartment on MacDougal Street, cops said. A source said the couple has been dating for a year.

When cops arrived they found McGuinness, who was charged with choking Dennis, lying on the floor, semi-conscious and bleeding, officials said. He required three stitches.

Dennis, who works as an account executive at public relations firm Edelman, told cops McGuinness attacked her first, sources said. She didn’t require medical attention.

It wasn’t clear last night what triggered the fight.

Dennis was arraigned last night at Manhattan Criminal Court. She was ordered by the judge to stay away from McGuinness, but was released without bail.

Dennis declined to comment.
