The joke’s on Occupy Wall Street

The Issue: Frank Fleming’s satirical piece mocking the 99 percent’s sense of entitlement.

I know that Frank J. Fleming is trying to be funny and that “Why We Must Lose the Darn 1 Percent” is supposed to be satire (PostOpinion, Oct. 26).

But some people might not understand he’s kidding and take him seriously.

Fleming must have written this column with tongue in cheek the whole time.

Include a picture next time so that we can know for sure.

The 1 percent has not learned from the great capitalist Henry Ford.

He gave his employees raises without being asked to. When asked by his peers why, he said, “If I don’t, who will buy my cars?”

The 1 percent keeps its wealth to itself, yet complains about the lack of consumers in the United States.

They’re characteristically focused on their paychecks, rather than on the long-term source of their pay.

Perhaps they are too busy learning Mandarin.
