Off-duty NYPD Auxiliary officer shot, left for dead, cops say

An off-duty NYPD Auxiliary officer was shot in the back and left for dead on a Canarsie Street corner today, police said.

A passerby called 911 after seeing the body of Francky Aleger, 39, on the ground at East 95th Street and Glenwood Road around 6 a.m. Ambulance workers noticed the gunshot wound to Aleger’s lower back as they took him to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead sources said.

No arrests have been made and there were no reports of gunshots in the area, sources told the Post.

Aleger lived in Brooklyn but volunteered as an auxiliary member in Manhattan, according to police.
