Occupy chain-gang caught on video

Cops released surveillance videos of Occupy Wall Street members chaining subway gates open to give straphangers a free ride during their Wednesday morning commutes.

The suspects tried to cover their tracks by wearing gloves and masks while they secured the emergency service doors in an open position.

But one of the three videos released today shows one pair of protesters leaving the subway station after tampering with the gates, cops said.

The protesters worked in pairs and posted signs that said, “Customers ride for free,” at stations on Lexington Avenue and East 116 Street in Upper Manhattan, Beverly Road in East Flatbush and Fort Hamilton Parkway in Sunset Park.

They also taped over MetroCard readers so they couldn’t be used, police said.

OWS took credit for the acts on its Web site and claimed to have opened gates at 20 stations, with help from transit workers.

Police could only confirm three such incidents between 5:15 a.m. and 7:20 a.m and tranist union leaders denied any involvement.
