Search for woman missing from Chinatown

Police are searching for a 61-year-old woman who went missing in Chinatown.

Nhung Vuong was walking with her sister-in-law Saturday around 3 p.m. near the crowded intersection of Mott and Grand streets when the two were separated, said Vicky Vuong Ferrazza, the woman’s niece.

“She turned around, and she was gone,” Ferrazza said. “It’s a nightmare.”

Vuong, who just moved to New York from California two weeks ago, does not speak any English and was not carrying any identification or cash at the time she went missing, Ferrazza said.

Police described the missing woman as 5-foot-2 and 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black wool coat, jeans and tan-colored Skecher sneakers.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
