PSAL baseball roundup: Morris transfer leads Monroe past Walton

Randy Perez did it on the mound and he did it at the plate as well. The Morris transfer fanned nine over 6-2/3 innings for the win and also had two hits, scored twice and drove in two runs to lead Monroe past Walton, 10-4, in Bronx A East baseball on Wednesday.

Inoel Nunez added two RBIs and scored twice and Braian Angelista added two hits and two runs scored for the undefeated and division-leading Eagles (4-0). Walton is now 2-2.

Riverdale/Kingsbridge 12, Gompers 2: Jason Araujo tripled twice, doubled twice and drove in four runs, Aidan O’Brien had two hits and scored three runs and Orlando Blanco and Sage Cheren each scored twice for RKA (2-2) in Bronx A West. Gompers is 0-4.

Taft 8, Clinton 3: Jairon Concepcion and Rasheed Noble each drove in two runs, Moises Alejo tripled and scored twice and Anthony Ferrer had two hits, scored a run and knocked in another for Taft (2-2) in Bronx A East. Clinton is now 1-3.

James Madison 10, Bushwick Campus 0: Ray Draxdorf doubled twice and drove in three runs, Jonathan Ho homered and knocked in three runs and Matt Zalon and Christian Capellan combined on a no-hitter and struck out seven for Madison (3-0) in Brooklyn A East. Bushwick is 1-3.

Tottenville 7, Curtis 0: Tommy Scarangello fanned seven in five shutout innings of three-hit ball and Brett Birkbeck and Anthony Capo each scored once and drove in a run for Tottenville (3-1) in Staten Island A. Curtis is 3-1 as well.

Port Richmond 10, Petrides 7: Anthony Tepedino had two hits and two RBIs, Zach Stein had three hits and scored twice and Brandon Thomas added two hits, scored twice and drove in a run for Port Richmond (2-3) in Staten Island A. Petrides is 1-4.

Susan Wagner 9, McKee/Staten Island Tech 6: Josh Bernstein tripled, doubled, scored three runs and drove in two, Matt Fazio and Joseph Vilardi each had two RBIs and Fazio fanned four in five innings of work for the win for Wagner (3-1) in Staten Island A. MSIT is 2-2.

Murry Bergtraum 4, Stuyvesant 3: Giovanni Pena homered and drove in two runs, he also struck out five in five innings pitched and Jean Carlo Guerrero, Domingo Concepcion and Wilfredo Lopez Jr. each scored once for Bergtraum (3-1) in Manhattan A West. Kyle Yee allowed just one earned run and whiffed nine in a complete-game effort for Stuyvesant (3-1).

Midwood 12, Bushwick Leaders 7: Raad Gheith scored twice and drove in two runs, Joe Dileo had two hits and scored three runs and Mike McCann had two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs for Midwood (3-1) in Brooklyn A East. Bushwick Leaders are 0-4.

Francis Lewis 4, Bayside 3: Chris O’Driscoll scored twice, Peter Andrisani had two hits and George Cornielle had three hits and an RBI for Lewis (2-2) in Queens a East. Bayside is 3-1.
