Whitney’s gruesome ending

Tragic Whitney Houston died in a bathtub filled with scalding water, her body ravaged from years of drug abuse, according to a grim autopsy report.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s final report painted a a disturbing, detailed picture of the “I Will Always Love You” singer’s death, which took place two months ago, but was years in the making.

* The water in Houston’s bathtub was still 93.5 degrees nearly six hours after she was pronounced dead. The scalding-hot water caused burn marks — called “skin slippage” in the report — on her hips, knees, ankles and shoulders.

* Houston had scars and marks on her stomach, chest and upper left thigh, most likely from breast augmentation and other cosmetic surgeries.

* But a mysterious scar on her left forearm may have been self-inflicted — perhaps from a fit she threw after seeing on-again, off-again lover Ray-J flirting with other women at a Los Angeles night spot.

* Investigators noted Houston’s “maxillary dental prosthesis” — her 11 false teeth — possibly replacing teeth lost from years of drug use.

* She suffered from other ailments, such as a 60 percent narrowing of her right coronary artery and a congested colon.

Remarkably, Houston was in as good a shape as possible, given all of those topical and internal wounds.

The 5-foot-6 singer was 151 pounds at death and “well built, muscular and fairly well nourished,” the report said.

Houston, 48, passed away Feb. 11 in her Beverly Hilton Hotel suite.

She was high on a cocktail of cocaine and prescription drugs when she passed out in the tub and drowned, authorities have ruled.
