Queens couple found dead by son, 2, in apparent murder-suicide

A Queens man shot his girlfriend in the back of the head and then turned the gun on himself – leaving their two-year-old son to make the grisly discovery inside their bedroom late last night, police sources said.

The apparent murder-suicide took place in the family’s South Jamaica home on Dillon Street about 11:30 p.m. According to sources, Everol Ellington, 32, shot Roxanne Lambert, 41, in their upstairs bedroom using a Springfield pistol.

Lambert’s 16-year-old son was also home when the tragedy unfolded, and her 18-year-old daughter showed up shortly afterward, neighbors said.

Lambert’s 18-year-old daughter was in shock after hearing about the incident.

“She came home to this and she was crying and saying she couldn’t believe it,” a family acquaintance said.

Relatives said the couple had a rocky relationship and were often heard arguing, but not last night.

“We were just chatting, she seemed fine,” said neighbor Renee Bryan, 37, said she saw Lambert just after 9 p.m. “It’s shocking. I saw the boyfriend earlier in the day, he was waving. I’m at a loss for words.”

Neighbors said Lambert worked at the Brooklyn Development Center, where she met Ellington.
