PSAL baseball roundup: Newtown hands Bryant first league loss

Luisandry Javier had three hits, scored three runs and drove in two and Joseph Payamps followed with two hits and three runs scored as Newtown run-ruled Bryant, 11-1, in Queens A West baseball on Monday.

Chris Moreno had two RBIs, Luis Estevez scored twice and Matt Duverge struck out three in five solid innings of work for Newtown (3-1). Bryant is now 4-1.

George Washington 6, Manhattan Center 5: Nelson Rodriguez had three hits, scored once and drove in a run and Alexis Torres had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice for GW (4-0) in Manhattan A East. Jesus Medina struck out nine and allowed three earned runs in five innings for Manhattan Center (2-3).

Stuyvesant 12, West 50th Street 2: Alec Schaw had two hits and three RBIs, Michael Sheldon also had three RBIs and Adam O’Connor Jamia added two hits, scored two runs and drove in another for Stuyvesant (4-1) in Manhattan A West. West 50th is 0-5.

Beacon 5, Environmental Studies 3: Matt Aronowitz went five innings for the win and allowed just one run, Dylan Long had two hits and two RBIs and Isaiah Sakany scored twice for Beacon (5-0) in Manhattan A West. Environmental Studies is 1-4.

Tottenville 1, Susan Wagner 0: Mike Sullivan homered and Vin Aiello got the win in relief for Tottenville (3-3) in Staten Island A. Wagner is also 3-3.

New Dorp 17, Port Richmond 0: Darius Ramos scored four runs, Thomas Sheridan had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice and Joseph Cascella had two hits, scored twice and added an RBI for New Dorp (4-2), which is now tied atop Staten Island A with Curtis. Port Richmond is 2-4.

McKee/Staten Island Tech 4, Curtis 3: James Sinodinos had two hits, an RBI, scored two runs and stole two bases, Ian Parisi went five innings for the win and Nick Manisero added two and an RBI for MSIT (3-3) in Staten Island A. Brendan Woods had two RBIs for Curtis (4-2) in defeat.

John Bowne 16, Bayside 3: Jacob Molina had two hits and seven RBIs, John Izquierdo had two hits, scored four runs and drove in two and Robinson Hernandez scored twice and drove in two runs for Bowne in Queens A East. Bayside is 4-3.

Francis Lewis 3, Aviation 0: Michael Allyn tossed a complete-game, one-hitter and struck out six and Leonardo Ibanez scored twice for Lewis (3-2) in Queens A East. Aviation falls to 3-4.

Long Island City 12, Lane 4: Josh Almonte tripled, doubled and had three RBIs, Cristian Guerrero had two hits, scored twice and drove in three and Albert Ramirez had two hits and scored twice for LIC (3-2) in Queens A West. Lane is 0-5.

Queens HS of Teaching 9, Flushing 6: Raysel Rojas had two RBIs and scored twice, Daniel Media also scored two runs and drove in another and Jason Zamora struck out eight in five innings for the win for QHST (3-0) in Queens B South. Flushing is 4-1 in Queens B North.

All City Leadership 13, South Shore 0: Jonathan Laborde had three hits, two runs scored and three RBIs, Robert Herasme had two hits and three RBIs and Marcus Candelaria struck out 14 in a six-inning, one-hitter for All City Leadership (3-1) in Brooklyn B South. South Shore is now 0-5.

Bathgate 5, Jane Addams 4: Albert Gonzalez had three hits, scored twice and drove in a run and Julio Martinez and Felix Tejada each had two hits, scored once and added an RBI for Bathgate (5-0) in Bronx B South. Addams is 1-4.
