LI couple arrested after each independently hit woman with car

A Long Island couple were busted for assault after they each, in turn, got behind the wheel of their car and struck the same woman during a dispute outside Family Court, police said.

Cops said Arielle Hardy, 22, and her former boyfriend, Anthony Andrews, 24, of Bay Shore, were battling for custody of their 6-month-old son at a Family Court hearing in Central Islip. After court, their dispute continued in the parking lot.

Hardy’s friend, Saadia Taylor, 23, was attacked and beaten by four female friends of Andrews, said Suffolk Sgt. Richard Senese. After that, Taylor began shouting for police and stood in front of a car driven by Andrews’ new girlfriend, Renee Berry, 22.

Berry knocked Taylor down with the vehicle, said Senese and Hardy came to her friend’s aid. At that point, Andrews got behind the wheel – but Taylor again stood in front of the vehicle to stop them from leaving before police arrived.

Andrews then ran partially over Taylor. He and Berry were arrested and charged with assault and reckless endangerment. Taylor was not seriously injured, said Senese. He said detectives were seeking the four women who also attacked Taylor.
