B’klyn hit-run bike teen dies

A 13-year-old bicyclist — struck by a hit-run driver as he pedaled back from a bill-paying chore for his immigrant parents in Brooklyn — died of his injuries yesterday, authorities said.

Tragic teen Henry Garcia was on his bike at around 3:40 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a Ford SUV on 20th Avenue near 80th Street in Bensonhurt, officials said. He died at Coney Island Hospital.

“Henry was coming home from paying the electric bill. He was with his older brother. They usually go to pay that bill together,’’ said the boy’s dad, Juan, 47, who is from Guatemala and spoke through a translator.

“This time, his older brother was late for work, so after they paid the bill, Henry rode his bike home alone. He got almost all the way home,’’ the dad said, breaking down in sobs.

Cops are still hunting for the driver.

“The police have the video from a house near where the green Ford SUV hit Henry,’’ the father said.

“I think [the driver] should show his face and tell us that he is sorry for what he did.

“I can’t believe it happened. He was a good [boy]. He was going to be a doctor.

“He said after his trip to Guatemala this summer, he was going to be really excited to start high school.”
