Shuttle flyover for NYC

NASA yesterday announced that it’s flying retired space shuttle Enterprise atop a 747 at a low altitude over the city next week — three years after the feds flubbed by failing to tell local authorities that a presidential jet and an F16 fighter were heading near Ground Zero for a military photo-op. That caused widespread panic amid fears of a 9/11-like attack.

NASA plans to fly the aircraft cargo over landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty on Monday morning before it lands at JFK. The shuttle will then head to its new home at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.
