Parents face legal trouble after allegedly throwing boozy party for underage kids

The parents of a Brooklyn prep school lacrosse player are facing legal action after being caught throwing an alcohol-fueled bash for their son and some 40 underage friends as they celebrated a big win, police said.

More than 40 minors were at the raucous party on Saturday and at least two were taken to a hospital via ambulance, a source said.

The partygoers — mostly lacrosse players at the prestigious Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn — were celebrating their 16-5 win against Horace Mann High School the day before, a source said.

Anthony Reyes, 56, and his wife, Claire Reyes, 49, were hauled away from their home in the enclave of Breezy Point, Queens, on 43 counts of unlawfully dealing with children and 10 counts of endangerment of a child.

They were released and given desk appearance tickets.

The Poly Prep lacrosse team includes players such as Jesse Bongiovi, son of rock star legend Jon Bon Jovi — though police would not confirm if he was at the party.

A rep for Bon Jovi declined comment.

School officials informed parents of the incident in an email on Monday — and cautioned them to talk to their children about drinking, a parent told The Post.

“If children are drinking and they are in a house unsupervised, somebody has to take responsibility,” a Poly Prep parent said yesterday. “Kids will experiment but the parents have to take the blame.”

Kathleen Clark, whose son a sophomore at Poly Prep, disagrees.

“No matter how vigilant you are as a parent, kids are going to drink,” Clark said. “I don’t expect parents to have the same responsibility supervising high school kids as they do kindergartners .”

Standing outside his house yesterday, Anthony Reyes smiled to a reporter and said only, “I am not going to say anything.”

Reyes and his wife, who have not been formally charged, are expected to be arraigned on June 14.
