Off-duty cop busted for trying to move to better seat at Mets game

Yer out!!

A drunk, off-duty cop was ejected from Citi Field in the middle of a Mets game and arrested after he refused to leave his illegally occupied seat, officials said yesterday.

Eduardo Cornejo, 30, was cornered by stadium security officials during the game Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds at about 9:30 p.m. after he made himself at home in a better seat than the one he had bought, sources said.

Team officials pulled off the ejected-then-arrested double play after security guards made several attempts to remove Cornejo from the ballpark, according to law-enforcement sources.

* Strike One: Cornejo refused to leave the stadium after guest-services agents approached him and said he was in the wrong seat.

* Strike Two: Cornejo refused to leave after a security supervisor told him he violated the stadium seating rules.

* Strike Three: Cornejo refused to leave after a uniformed police sergeant relieved the frustrated security guards and gave the same order.

Cornejo, a seven-year veteran who works in Brooklyn’s 67th Precinct, was then handcuffed and arrested.

Cornejo was arraigned yesterday in Queens Supreme Court on a criminal trespassing charge, and released on his own recognizance.

He apparently has no hard feelings against the Mets. After his court appearance, he returned to his Staten Island home wearing a Mets cap.

He declined to comment.
