Top jock out after drink test

BALTIMORE — Ramon Dominguez will replace Hall of Fame jockey Kent Desormeaux as the rider of longshot Tiger Walk in today’s Preakness after Desormeaux refused to take a Breathalyzer test yesterday at Belmont Park and was taken off his three mounts.

Desormeaux, who won the Preakness twice on Derby winners Real Quiet and Big Brown, has been battling alcohol problems for years. He previously failed a breath test at Woodbine racetrack in Canada in 2010.

PREAKNESS BETTOR’S GUIDE

Tiger Walk will be Dominguez’s 10th career Preakness mount. He finished second with Scrappy T in 2005 and First Dude in 2010.

“I’m excited to ride the horse, not necessarily the way it happened,” Dominguez said. “I will have to go look at a couple of replays to take a look at his running style.”
