B’way scion Eric Nederlander settles custody dispute with estranged wife

The black sheep of Broadway’s Nederlander family has settled his bitter custody dispute with his estranged wife — but he doesn’t seem very happy about it.

Eric Nederlander appeared to be wiping tears from his eyes after Justice Deborah Kaplan signed off on the 11th-hour deal today between Nederlander and Lindsey Kupferman over their 4-year-old daughter.

Nederlander lawyer Bernard Clair and Kupferman lawyer Bonnie Rabin said their clients were “pleased” with the confidential deal, which settled all custody, visitation and decision-making issues over little Mira.

Nederlander, 46, had been at a strategic disadvantage in the custody case. Kaplan had ordered the already concluded custody trial reopened after the theater heir was arrested for violating an order of protection against his girlfriend earlier this year. He was arrested on a similar charge this past week.

The judge had allowed his arrest records to be put into evidence, and denied his request that the courtroom be closed for the resumption of the custody battle.

Nederlander apparently decided he didn’t want his dirty laundry aired in open court and cut a deal.

A trial over money issues is expected later this year.
