Power plays

3 STARS

Zach Parise

After not speaking to the media following a 3-0 Game 3 loss on Saturday, Parise had two goals and an assist. He set up Travis Zajac’s first-period goal before adding a power-play goal and an empty netter in the third period.

Martin Brodeur

Brodeur may not have made as many brilliant saves as he did in Game 3, but he did stop 28 Rangers shots, only allowing a late goal to Ruslan Fedotenko.

Bryce Salvador

The Devils defenseman scored the game’s first goal, his third of the playoffs after not scoring once during the regular season. He also added an assist on Parise’s empty-net goal, and now has 10 points in 15 playoff games this year.

KEY MOMENT

With the Devils holding a 2-0 lead, the Rangers’ Derek Stepan took a penalty for high-sticking 2:37 into the third period. It took Zach Parise just four seconds to score, and any chance the Rangers had at a comeback was over.

TO QUOTE….

“For sure they’re the best team we’ve played. They’re the best team and they’re playing their game very well.” — Henrik Lundqvist
