MIAMI — Miami police shot a naked man to death Saturday as he ate the face of a man he had reportedly been fighting with.
The offender refused police orders to stop chewing on his victim’s face, which led a police officer to fire several shots, The Miami Herald reported, adding that he had continued his gruesome attack after being wounded.
Officers had been summoned by a woman who said she saw the pair fighting on an off-ramp to the MacArthur Causeway.
About half the victim’s face had been chewed off, police said. He is fighting for his life in the hospital.
A police spokesman said, “Based on the information provided, our Miami police officer is a hero and saved a life.”
