What a two-face.
An unnamed 69-year-old truck driver — who spent 28 years on the road with the sun beating down on his left cheek — is a walking advertisement for sunscreen lotion.
The right side of his mug is smooth, while the sun-damaged half is crevassed and pruned beyond his years.
“The biggest take-home message from all of this is that you can get UV radiation through window glass even if you are just running an errand,” said Jennifer Gordon, a doctor at Northwestern University who is studying the patient.
Gordon published the picture of the anonymous trucker and her diagnosis — “photoaging” — in the most recent issue of The New England Journal of Medicine. She recommended periodic monitoring for skin cancer.
