A Brooklyn judge today ordered the son of a “Mob Wives” star held on $200,000 bond for allegedly peddling prescription drugs and cocaine.
Anthony D’Onofrio – whose mother Angela (Big Ang) Raiola stars on the VH1 reality show – pleaded not guilty during a brief court appearance before Justice James Sullivan.
While the brassy, plastic surgery-loving “Mob Wives” star was a no-show, D’Onofrio’s supporters created a mob scene in the courtroom as a prosecutor detailed how the the 23-year-old allegedly sold cocaine and oxycodone pills to an undercover cop.
“This was a long-term investigation,” said assistant district attorney Timothy Gearon. “Over 700 oxycodone pills were sold and the price of that was close to $14,000.”
Donofrio and four other men were indicted Wednesday on conspiracy and drug sale charges.
According to a criminal complaint, D’Onofrio sold bags of cocaine to an undercover cop last Dec. 7, then steered him to a pal for “blues” – or oxycodone pills.
“He says he didn’t do it,” defense lawyer Lance Lazzaro said after D’Onofrio’s arraignment. “He’s denying it.”
Gearon, however, said there are audio and video recordings of D’Onofrio talking about the drug-dealing operation with some of the other men charged in the sting.
Lazzaro said D’Onofrio has no criminal record – unlike his mom Big Ang, who pleaded guilty in 2003 to drug charges.
“I think we should wait to see what type of proof they’ve got before we rush to judgment,” said Lazzaro, who trashed the $200,000 bail as “outrageous.”
