Cops seize Etan Patz murder suspect’s daughter’s computer

City detectives descended again this afternoon on the Maple Shade, N.J. home of alleged Etan Patz killer Pedro Hernandez — this time to seize the computer of the suspect’s daughter, according to law enforcement sources.

Cops entered the Hernandez home with search warrants in hand that authorized them to take computers and data storage devices. Sources told The Post that one specific target of the seizure was computer equipment of Becky Hernandez, the suspect’s 23-year-old daughter.

It was not clear why the girl’s computer was of interest. The family this week hired high-profile defense lawyer Robert Gottlieb to help them understand their rights as they weather a maelstrom of police and media attention.

“The one thing I am absolutely of is neither Rosemary nor Becky has ever done anything wrong whatsoever,” Gottlieb said when asked about the search.

“I’m confident they are not the focus of any investigation,” he added.

A small army of local and city cops descended on the Hernandez home at around 4 p.m. this afternoon. Let inside by Hernandez’s wife, Rosemary, they were still inside three hours later.

Hernandez confessed last month to murdering 6-year-old Etan Patz while working at a bodega near the Patz home in 1979.

Law enforcement sources who have viewed the videotaped confession describe it as lucid and compelling.

But court-appointed defense lawyer Harvey Fishbein said at Hernandez’s arraignment last month that Hernandez suffers from bi-polar disorder and suffers visual and auditory hallucinations, raising questions about Hernandez’s reliability and motive in confessing.
