B’klyn woman & child in ‘very serious’ condition after security gate crashes on them

A building’s security gate came crashing down on a woman and a small child in a freak accident in Brooklyn earlier this afternoon.

Both are in “very serious” condition, according to the FDNY.

The woman suffered head injuries when the roll down gate — which somehow separated from the building — at Fifth Avenue Cat Clinic in Park Slope fell on top of her, according to witnesses.

The child — who appeared to be a boy around four years old — injured his leg.

“It was just like boom. It was so unnatural. It [the security gate] didn’t teeter totter or anything it just came off,” said one witness.

The woman injured — who had a huge gash from her forehead to the top of her head — is believed to be the child’s nanny.

The child’s mother came running down the block shortly after the horrific incident on the corner of President Street and Fifth Avenue around 4 pm.

“The look on her face was heartbreaking,” said Bethany O’Grady, 22.

“[She said] ‘What’s happening? What’s going on?”
