Katie fears Scientology stalk, as strange cars follow her every move: report

Katie Holmes may have some new men in her life — stalkers the “Dawson’s Creek” star reportedly is convinced are members of the church of Scientology, dispatched to keep tabs on her every move following her split with Tom Cruise.

TMZ reported today that on top of the usual photogs and reporters, “mysterious” men in a white Cadillac Escalade and a black Mercedes SUV have been seen tailing Holmes’ every move, and she’s worried they are members of hubby Cruise’s notoriously secret religion.

The celebrity-gossip website cited sources close to Holmes, who said the 33-year-old actress is worried Scientology “now views her as a threat to the organization.”

Holmes filed to divorce Cruise on Thursday, largely because she feared the religion’s influence on their 6-year-old daughter, Suri. She is fighting for sole custody of the child.

It is unknown whether the vehicles holding constant vigil outside Holmes’ pad are from the church, but TMZ reported the actress believes she is now in Scientology’s crosshairs. The vehicles have been seen following the actress for weeks, sources told RadarOnline..

Cruise, 49, is seen as especially devoted to Scientology, and his religious views contributed to the breakup of his first marriage to actress Mimi Rogers, which ended in 1990 after three years.

Rogers, 56, told People magazine Cruise wanted to become a Scientology monk and he “thought he had to be celibate and maintain the purity of his instrument, whereas I like to play mine from time to time.”

Cruise also made headlines in 2005 when he went on a rant against psychiatry on the “Today” show, calling the profession “a pseudo-science,” and criticizing Brooke Shields for taking antidepressants to deal with her postpartum depression.

According to Scientology, psychiatry is the root of all evil on the planet.

Shields blasted Cruise’s remarks “a disservice to mothers everywhere.”
