Take the points and expect lots of ’em

Including the 1997-2011 seasons in The Post, Cat’s record in print stands at 454-393 (53.6 percent) against the spread.

SUPER BOWL XLVII

Ravens (+3 1/2); Over 47 1/2: Baltimore’s gone on an amazing road run to get here. Multiple Super Bowl winners of recent vintage (including last year’s Giants) have demonstrated that being relatively fresh, healthy, and laser-focused can capture this prize. Baltimore qualifies, and its drive to send Ray Lewis off the right way, crown Ed Reed’s career and give previous owner Art Modell one final salute can be realized if Joe Flacco, Ray Rice and its tight ends continue to come up big. Ravens (+3 1/2) soar, for one unit.

Regarding the total: Once teams feel one another out, there tends to be a powerful scoring flurry in either the second or third quarters in this annual fixture, once the offenses have settled and are ready to run their best stuff. Cat’s anticipating Colin Kaepernick won’t hyperventilate on the big stage, despite his limited NFL experience as a starter. The points should flow, the fast Superdome track is no hindrance, and the number’s reasonable. It won’t be over until it’s Over (47 1/2), for one unit.

TWO WEEKS AGO: 1-1. Ravens (plus one unit); Over (minus one unit).

SEASON: 24-15.
