Top NY judge eyes video

ALBANY — Lights, camera, cross-examination!

New York’s top judge called yesterday for cameras in courtrooms.

Court of Appeals Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman lamented the failure to renew a law that lapsed 15 years ago requiring video cameras in the courts.

“Surely, we can and must do better if we truly aim to integrate the New York state courts into 21st-century life,” he said during a speech in Abany.
