Hit-and-run killer pleads guilty

A Queens man has pleaded guilty for the fatal hit-and-run death of a handyman last summer.

Alex Batista, 25, was facing up to 15 years in prison for second-degree manslaughter charges for plowing into Roger Hernandez as he was riding his bicycle on a Sunnyside street on July 19.

Batista pleaded guilty on Monday to second-degree assault and DWI and will be sentenced to five years in prison on March 13.

The boozy driver was found by cops passed out police next to a damaged Infiniti.

After Batista completes his sentence, he must install an ignition interlock to his vehicle for three years and will have his NYS license suspended for six months.
