A 72-year-old man was struck and killed by a hit- and-run driver in Brooklyn Monday night, cops said.
The victim was mowed down as he crossed Avenue D between East 42nd Street and East 43rd Street in East Flatbush at around 8 p.m. He was not using the crosswalk, police said.
The vehicle that hit him was described as a white car which was heading west on Avenue D at the time of the collision, cops said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police were still searching for the driver early Tuesday morning.
