A man hard up for cash went a little too far begging for it — all the way to his baby mama’s doorstep, authorities said.

John Soto, 42, allegedly knocked on the door of his ex-flame’s home on Elsmere Place at Crotona Parkway in West Farms at about 2:20 a.m. Thursday and said:

“Let me get some money. I won’t bother you no more.”

When she begged him to just go away, he instead climbed the fire escape, promising, “I’ll leave you alone. Just pass it through the window,” before opening the window and gaining entry to her home, according to court documents.

He was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal trespass, the papers say.

A man attacked a woman from behind in Fort Greene and ran off with her iPhone, police said.

The crime occurred at about 2 p.m. last Tuesday near the corner of St. James Place and Clifton Place, cops said.

The suspect was described as approximately 20 years old and 6 feet tall with black hair.

When last seen, he was wearing a knit cap and a black North Face jacket, investigators said.

A 30-year-old man who was punched in the face was lucky that he was able to walk away from a melee that drew gunfire outside a Lower East Side club, police said.

The madness in front of Element, at Essex and Rivington streets, at 4:40 a.m. Saturday also drew police attention.

The man was not seriously hurt, and no one was struck by any bullet, sources said.

A suspect in the theft of a woman’s iPhone in a Washington Heights subway station last summer has finally been collared, cops said yesterday.

Tameek Skinner, 18, approached the 37-year-old woman from behind on the No. 1 train’s southbound platform at West 157th Street and Broadway at about 6:45 a.m. July 13, according to detectives.

He allegedly grabbed the iPhone from the woman’s shirt pocket, shoved her to the ground and took off.

Skinner was identified through police and surveillance video, said investigators who caught up with him last week.

He was charged with robbery and was being held last night in lieu of $25,000 bail, according to court records.

A homeless man who was just trying to stay warm by lighting a fire in Forest Park yesterday burned to death when his coat got too close to the flames, police said.

The man had not been identified as of last night, but cops said he looked to be in his 20s.

The body was found at Freedom Drive and Park South Drive at about 11:40 a.m., authorities said.

Staten Island

Two 15-year-olds used a toy gun to mug a 50-year-old woman who had just gotten off a bus in New Dorp Beach, authorities said.

Ronnie Mershon and Dashawn Moody allegedly confronted the terrified woman at the corner of Ebbitts Street and Roma Avenue at about 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, grabbing her bag and knocking her to the ground.

They allegedly pointed the fake gun at her and demanded money before running off.

They were eventually arrested and charged with robbery and menacing, court papers say.
