Ryan O’Neal talks to Farrah painting

LOS ANGELES — Ryan O’Neal said Wednesday he talks to dead girlfriend Farrah Fawcett through an Andy Warhol painting of her that’s the object of an emotional civil trial.

O’Neal and the University of Texas both claim ownership of the portrait of Fawcett, valued at $12 million.

“I talk to it. I talk to her,” O’Neal, 72, testified. “It’s her presence. Her presence in my life. In our son’s life. We lost her. I don’t want to lose that, too.”

Fawcett died of cancer in 2009 at the age of 62.

O’Neal vowed to never sell the portrait if he prevails in court.

“I plan to keep it in our family as long as there is a family,” he told jurors.
