Early exit for hurting A-Rod

Alex Rodriguez might have made his final appearance on the field at The Stadium this season — and perhaps even longer because he’s facing a long suspension — after leaving Wednesday’s postseason-dream stopping 8-3 loss to the Rays at the Stadium because of continued issues with his legs.

Rodriguez, who has been the designated hitter since suffering a strained right calf and a tight left hamstring, was removed for a pinch hitter in the eighth.

When asked about the move, manager Joe Girardi didn’t get into many details — much like when Rodriguez left a game in Boston on the last road trip.

“His legs aren’t great, so we pinch hit for him,” Girardi said.

The manager declined to get into what exactly was wrong with Rodriguez.

“He just told me his legs weren’t great and he was going to take care of them,” Girardi said. “I said, ‘OK, go take care of them.’ ”

Before Ichiro Suzuki took his spot, Rodriguez went 0-for-3 and was booed after striking out looking in the fifth. He has just two hits in 18 at-bats on the homestand and is facing a 211-game ban and the appeal hearing begins Monday.

Multiple sources told ESPN that Major League Baseball has filed a motion in Buffalo federal court seeking access to sealed grand jury record in a case against Anthony Galea, a well-known sports physician who previously treated the third baseman.
