Porsche ‘time’ bandits

Two savvy thieves with expensive taste made off with a lucrative watch from the Porsche Design Store in Midtown, police sources said.

A blond woman distracted a worker at the luxury shop on Madison Avenue near East 59th Street at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday while her accomplice removed a P’6910 Indicator timepiece from inside a showcase, police sources said. The two then left the store.

A source said it is worth more than $177,000. According to the Porsche Web site, it takes 40 days of hand-crafting by one watchmaker to make the model. It has about 800 individual parts.

Both suspects were seen on surveillance video.

The woman wore a gray sweater and dark pants, while the man wore a white hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.

Cops are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

One man who works across the street said there was a police presence at the store Wednesday evening, and he saw cops dusting for fingerprints.

He added that the store manager seemed nervous while leaving the store, and checked twice to make sure the doors were locked.

The manager declined to comment on the theft.
