An emotionally disturbed woman wielding a large knife got into a five-hour standoff with cops yesterday before surrendering at her Lower East Side residence, police sources said.
The woman, 47, holed up in her Grand Street apartment after being she was served at 8:10 a.m. with a court order to see a psychiatrist, sources said. After a nearly five-hour face-off with officers from the NYPD Emergency Service Unit, she surrendered and was immediately taken, on a stretcher, from her building straightShe was taken to a hospital Bellevue for examination.
