Mike Breach is bent over a latte, furrowing his brow in concentration. With a tootpick, he’s jabbing away at the foamy surface, taking care in shaping a part of the drink most people chug right through. Before the coffee can cool, he turns the cup around: Where there was once just foam, the face of Marilyn Monroe now stares back, sultry lips and all.

The simple hearts or leaves you find in your latte are the works of amateurs as far as Breach is concerned. The 29-year-old Bushwick artist and musician has created a name for himself creating intricate portraits of celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson: If it can be drawn with a pen, Breach can craft it in coffee.
