This week’s couple: Date dock

What’s more romantic than a date by the water? We sent Niki, 37, and Chris, 38, on a Circle Line Harbor Lights cruise along the Hudson River. Luckily, neither ended up seasick as they set sail. Niki, an NYC newcomer, saw her new home from a new vantage point, while Chris, a city native played tour guide. Did the Circle Line ship become the love boat — or had the date sunk by the time they docked?

He said:

As Niki walked toward me, I noticed how stunning she was. Very few women have an “It” factor, but she is one of them.

We chatted throughout the cruise. When she told me she was a member of Mensa, I was blown away. Most girls I date can’t spell Mensa. This was a major turn-on!

The Circle Line cruise was enjoyable. The weather was perfect, and the view from the boat was breathtaking, even for a non-tourist like myself. But the most breathtaking sight was Niki herself.

The two-hour boat ride felt minutes long, so after the cruise, we hit a nearby bar for food, drinks and the Stanley Cup Finals. Niki took a cab home later that night. I would like nothing more than to see her again.

She said:

Chris heard I was relatively new to New York, so he brought me a gift bag of fun New York goodies: a subway map, single-serving bottles of liquors that make up a Long Island Iced Tea, an apple and a scratch ticket (I didn’t win). That made a great first impression.

Throughout the cruise, Chris was funny, gentlemanly and made me comfortable. The Circle Line river tour was a fantastic way to see the city. The tour went down the Hudson, around the Statue of Liberty and up the East River during sunset.

After the boat docked, we went to a bar to watch game two of the Stanley Cup Finals. After his Boston Bruins beat my Chicago Blackhawks, I hopped in a cab back to Brooklyn.

Chris really seemed like a good guy. I’m not sure if I felt a real connection — but I’m always down to having another cool new friend.
