Niese pulled from game

ATLANTA — Jon Niese was removed from Thursday night’s game against the Braves with an unspecified ailment. The Mets left-hander was in apparent discomfort after delivering a pitch to Tyler Pastornicky in the fourth inning.

Niese walked off the mound and was replaced by David Aardsma. Niese allowed three earned runs on eight over 3 1/3 innings with five strikeouts and no walks. He missed a start earlier this month because of shoulder tendonitis, but indicated the soreness had subsided in recent weeks.
