Kid-porn rap eyed vs. ex-HS librarian

A former Stuyvesant HS librarian busted in connection with the NYPD’s infamous “cannibal cop” and then charged in a sick plot to rape and murder women and children could be facing additional charges of child pornography.

The feds are “more likely than not” going to file the additional charges against Christopher Asch in the next two to three weeks, Assistant US Attorney Hadassa Waxman told a Manhattan federal judge yesterday.

During a hearing in which Judge Paul Gardephe rejected bail for Asch, it was revealed that the government’s case against the 61-year-old ex-Greenwich Village librarian also includes evidence alleging possession of child porn.

“[Asch] talked to an undercover agent about his interest in child pornography,” Waxman said. “He told an undercover agent he has interest in child pornography and has child pornography.”

But Asch’s lawyer, Brad Simon, painted his client as a “law-abiding citizen” who was into S&M other kinky fetishes — but not child pornography.

In April, the feds busted Asch and Richard Meltz, 65, in a scheme to kidnap, rape, torture and kill women, children and infants.

FBI agents stumbled upon Asch and Meltz — then-chief of police at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Bedford, Mass. — through their probe of Michael Vanhise, an accused co-conspirator of the NYPD’s “cannibal cop” Gilberto Valle.
